Replicate introduced the RT Rollout Testbed service in January 2007, based on patent-pending technology. The RT Rollout service offers our customers a virtual test lab in which they design and test tightly integrated network configurations of server, application, and database systems in realistic network settings. In 2008, RT will introduce RT Galaxy, a suite of virtual network products and services for use in production environments.
RT Rollout
Today’s IT lifecycle begins with the design and initial development of distributed applications, based on the requirements of users and the policies of the organization. The RT Rollout Testbed is the next step in applying virtualization to the problem of testing these distributed applications in realistic environments.
Provided as a subscription service to IT organizations, RT Rollout provides the capability to store, at any time, the state of multiple Virtual Machines, spanning a variety of network configurations. RT Rollout provides effective emulation of the total LAN and WAN environment, including network delays, losses, and failures. It automatically configures a virtual network, and stores the network configuration together with the virtual machines.
Because the coordinated state of multiple VMs is stored in an archive that can be shared among users, this coordinated state (known as a constellation) can be retrieved from storage and then modified in-place in order to design and test variations in configuration. This contrasts with current practice found in virtualized IT environments where many distinct image files are separately saved, individually managed and configured, and subject to the introduction of errors and potentially costly time expenditure which often accompanies the use of manual processes.
Replicate’s RT Rollout service can extend your in-house environment to support fast release cycles while maintaining high quality and tight integration. Our virtual testbeds support a broad range of server, application and database environments. Because it is offered as a service, the RT Rollout Testbed is accessible from a customer’s site or a remote, off-site facility. As an extension to the IT organization’s in-house test facilities, RT Rollout allows the IT organization to adjust the use of test resources to meet demand.

RT Galaxy
As server virtualization becomes a more viable means of server consolidation for production systems, it also becomes a fundamental means by which corporate IT and service vendors deploy business continuity, disaster recovery and high availability solutions. Replicate Technologies recognizes that with increased and more sophisticated use of VMEs in the corporate or service data center comes new and unfamiliar issues of network configuration and security. These issues of configuration integrity, security and resilience are particularly apparent when spanning data centers or when managing the interaction of virtual networks and physical network facilities.
Replicate will initiate the RT Galaxy product line with limited release of services and beta versions of products in late 2007, with general availability of the first products scheduled for early 2008.
