Replicate Technologies (RT) offers professional services regarding virtualized networks. Experienced RT staff combine RT software and partner resources as appropriate for consulting engagements in the following specialties.
VMware network analysis
RT can analyze and validate VMware VI3 and VMware Server networks, identifying and resolving issues such as:
- Consistency between VI3 and its physical network (e.g., trunking, NIC teaming)
- Network configuration problems related to VMotion, DRS or HA
- Problems networking virtual appliances (e.g., load balancers, firewalls)
- Network resiliency issues with multiple NICs or layer 2 or 3 redundancy
- Security issues with dynamic spin up or cloning of new VMs
Custom testbed networks
RT’s Rollout Testbed can be extended to allow troubleshooting or simulation of particularly complex testing needs. Challenge us, and we’ll find a solution. To date, these custom configurations have included
- Multi-site peer-to-peer networks
- Wide-area-network effects, such as those on cellular data networks
- Testbeds running on-site at a customer location, or hosted, or a combination of the two
Pre-configured utility computing applications
The arrival of utility computing platforms like Amazon EC2, XCalibre FlexiScale, and others, brings the promise of “utility SaaS” — of software delivered on demand, one customer at a time. This requires storage and management of groups of virtual machines, configured into customized network fabrics with each group scaled and controlled independently. RT specializes in utility system provisioning. Examples:
- Load generation for scalability simulations
- Scalable media delivery services
- Ad hoc analysis of network logs or other large-scale datasets
